Evidence from Hadith:

"Kala Rasoolallah Salal lahu alay he wasalam”:

1. Rasoolallah (Salal lahu alay he wasalam) said that I was the first of the Prophets to be created and the last of them to be sent.
(Sahih Hadith; Bukhari, Ahmad, Tabrani, Hakam)

2. The Sahaba Karim (RadiAllahu tal'ala Anh) asked Rasool Elayhi Salaam "Oh Messenger of Allah (Elayhi Salaam) when was you was a Prophet? He (Salal lahu alay he wasalam) relplied,
"Kunto Nabiyan wa aadamu baynal maa-ee-wateen"
"I was a Nabi even when Adam (Ala Nabiyyina Wa Alaihis Salatu Wasslam) was between Mud and Water" (even before the creation of Adam a.s).
(Sahih Hadith; Ibn-e-Majah, Tirmizi)

3. All the Prophets were made from the Noor of Allah and The Prophet Muhammad (Elayhi Salaam) was the first (from amongst them)

The above Hadith Literature and Quraa'nic Ayat clearly prove the Nooraniyat of Muhammad Salal lahu alay he wasalam. He (Salal lahu alay he wasalam) was indeed light (Noor).

The Wahabis and other misguided people use the following verse from the Qur'aan to weakly try and counter all what has been mentioned above:

"Kalu bashrun mithlukum yuha alay"
(Surah Fassilat 6:41)

"Say Oh Beloved I am a Man like you who is divinely inspired"

What people seem to miss in this above verse, is that although the Holy Prophet (Salal lahu alay he wasalam) came to us in the form of a man, He was not a man (Bashar) like us!

The misguided claim that He (Salal lahu alay he wasalam) was a man "exactly like us" (Astagfirullah).

The verse says that He (Salal lahu alay he wasalam) was 'divinely inspired' (By Allah!).. and please tell me, who could ever claim to be 'divinely inspired' to the supreme levels of Imaam-ul-Anbiya (Leader of all the Prophets) (Salal lahu alay he wasalam)? Undoubtedly Nobody.

Firstly, if Pyaari Mustafa (Salal lahu alay he wasalam) came to us in His original Noori (Light) form, then how could He (Salal lahu alay he wasalam) have set an effective example to us?

What would the people have said to this Noori Prophet who prayed 5 times a day, went Hajj, gave Zakat, kept all these fasts etc? that we cannot do what He can do, He is an Angelic kind of supreme Prophet and we are only mere humans..

But because the Prophet (Salal lahu alay he wasalam) was sent by Allah (Azzawajal) to us in the form of a man; it was only then we could actually relate and seek example from Him (Salal lahu alay he wasalam)....and what an example He was..'the Emblem of Perfection' (Salal lahu alay he wasalam)

When Allah (Azzawajal) spoke to Musa a.s (as recorded in the Qur'aan) He said:

"Ya Musa Inee ana Rabbuk"
(Qur'aan)

"Oh Musa, I am your Lord"

Allah (Azzawajal) spoke to Musa a.s from the burning bush, which was on earth (as in the Qur'aan)...but did anyone say that Allah is a tree? even though Allah speaks from a tree, as stated by Allah in the Qur'aan?? No.

When Hazrat Maryam (RadiAllahu tal'ala Anh) was about to become pregnant with the Prophet Isa (Ala Nabiyyina Wa Alaihis Salatu Wasslam), the Noori Angel, Hazrat Jibraeel-e-Ameen a.s. came to Her (as metioned in the Qur'aan). How did he come to her, do you know? Allah states that Jibraeel a.s came in the form of a Bashar! (as a man!):

"Fata matha-la-laha basharan sawee-aa"
(Qur'aan)

Who is saying this? Allah Says it! Where? in the Qur'aan!- but did anyone ever say that Jibraeel a.s was a bashar? Even though Allah says that Jibraeel a.s came as a Bashar in the Qur'aan?? No!

LIKEWISE, WE DO NOT DENY THAT RASOOL (SALAL LAHU ALAY HE WASALAM) CAME AS A BASHAR! BUT WE DO NOT SAY THAT HE IS A BASHAR LIKE US!

OUR REALITY IS BASHARIAT! (MANHOOD), BUT JUST AS JIBRAEEL A.S CAME IN THE FORM OF A MAN YET PRESERVED HIS REAL ESSENCE, IN THE SAME WAY RASOOLALLAH (SALAL LAHU ALAY HE WASALAM) CAME IN THE FORM OF A MAN AND PRESERVED HIS REAL ESSENCE.

WHAT IS HIS REAL ESSENCE? NOOR:

"Kad jaa akum minallah hi noorun wa kitaabun mubeen"
(Surah Ma'idah 5:15, Qur'aan)

"He has come to you as a Noor of Allah and a Man of this book"

From the time of Rasoolallah (Salal lahu alay he wasalam) till now, it has always been known that the Prophet (Salal lahu alay he wasalam) is Noor and this fact has never been disputed. Only recent modern day innovations (over the last hundred years or so) since the Wahabi movement have suggested otherwise.

e.g. Imam Jalaluddin Suyuti (RadiAllahu tal'ala Anh) who was a heavyweight Mujtahid/Muhaddith of his time, lived near the time of the Prophet (Salal lahu alay he wasalam). He (RadiAllahu tal'ala Anh) wrote in his Tafsir (Ver Famous- Tafsir Jalalayn); which was one of the earliest exergues of commentary on the Holy Qur'aan, that Rasoolallah (Salal lahu alay he wasalam) was infact Noor.

Imam Suyuti (RadiAllahu tal'ala Anh) knew 100,000 hadith by heart with the full chains of narration (Sanad) and was known to have authored over 600 great books on Islam.

Because modern innovations suggect otherwise, you will find that all the earliest exergues (or books and opinions) near the time of Rasool (Salal lahu alay he wasalam) and 'The Salaf (RadiAllahu tal'ala Anh)' (The 3 Holiest Generations that lived directly with and after the Prophet Elayhi Salaam; The Sahaba (RadiAllahu tal'ala Anh) The Tabieen (RadiAllahu tal'ala Anh) and the Taba-Tabieen (RadiAllahu tal'ala Anh)) always suggest exactly the same; that Rasool Elayhi Salaam was infact Noor.

Afterall, whats so hard to believe? considering that even our own Rooh inside of us which is also made of 'Noor'!, makes our own makeup, partially Noor! This makes the whole ideal, alot easier to relate to.

"Ey Noor-e-Muhammad kee, Sab roshani duniya meh, sab kuch hai basheer unkaa, sadkaa tou lotaa ni dou"
(Naat-e-Rasool Elayhi Salaam)

A thing of Love:

If Rasul Elayhi Salaam was only on this Earth for sixty odd years and emitted So Much Noor on to the Duniya, as He was the one who took us out of darkness into light, then imagine the amount of Noor Muhammad-dur-Rasoolallah (Salal lahu alay he wasalam) has emitted into into the core of the earth in the last 1400 years! (as it is there in Madinah-tul-Manawarrah that our Master physically resides in His Qabr-e-Anwar!)

Halloween for Muslims (Shame and a Big Shame)

When walking into a mall or going to school at this time of the year, it’s quite difficult to not notice decorations of ghosts and goblins, vampires and witches displayed on walls and hanging from ceilings in an eye-catching manner. A ghoulish and demonic theme is set everywhere thus influencing society to get in the Halloween mood. In preparation for the night of October 31 adults purchase candies and chocolate, children buy costumes and plans are made for trick or treating and Halloween parties.

In the midst of all this commotion many Muslim children are left debating with one another over the permissibility of becoming involved in Halloween activities. While some deem it impermissible simply because their parents told them so others maintain there is absolutely nothing wrong with it and wholeheartedly embrace the occasion’s mood and events. This makes the religious minded child feel left out and leaves him somewhat confused. As he approaches his parents on this issue he seldom gets the attention and answers he’s looking for, which consequently leads him to eventually accepting what the mainstream is doing.

In order to understand whether getting involved in an event or activity is islamically permissible or not it is important to research its origins and objectives before arriving at a conclusion.

When conducting a bit of research on Halloween we find that this is not an event that was constructed recently in the western world but rather dates back thousands of years. According to the online encyclopedia, Britannica.com, Halloween has its origins in the festival of Samhain among the Celts of ancient Britain and Ireland. Samhain, which in Celtic means ‘end of summer’, was one of the most important and sinister calendar festivals of the Celtic year. This event was held on November 1 and was considered the end of the summer period, the date on which the herds were returned from pasture and land tenures were renewed. Contrary to the fundamental Muslim belief of tawheed the Celts believed that on this day the world of the gods would become visible to mankind, and the gods would play many tricks on their mortal worshipers. It was a time filled with danger, charged with fear, and full of supernatural episodes. Sacrifices of every kind were thought to be vital, for without them the Celts believed they could not prevail over the hazards of the season or counteract the activities of the gods.

As Muslims, it is imperative that we do not become associated with notions that entertain shirk. Our God is one god; Allah, there is no god except He. In this world Allah has made it a policy that He will not make Himself visible to any being simply because they do not have the physical capacity to see Him. He mentions in the Holy Qur’än, “Vision perceives Him not but He perceives all vision.” (6:103). In His Final Testament Allah has related the story of Musa’s A.S. request to view Him which resulted in him falling unconscious. Allah explains, “And when Musa arrived at Our appointed time and his Lord spoke to Him, he said, “My Lord, show me (Yourself) that I may look at You.” (Allah) said, “You will not see Me, but look at the mountain; if it should remain in place then you will see Me.” But when his Lord appeared to the mountain, He rendered it level and Musa fell unconscious. And when he awoke, he said, “Exalted are You! I have repented to You, and I am the first of the believers.”
(7:143)

Bear in mind that Allah does not harass his creation in any way nor does He demand that sacrifices be made for Him in order to keep Him calm. Allah says, “Indeed Allah does not wrong the people at all…”
(10:44)

The Celts also believed that on this day the souls of those who had died would return to visit their homes. People set bonfires on hilltops for relighting their fireplaces for the winter and to frighten away evil spirits, and they sometimes wore masks and other disguises to avoid being recognized by the ghosts thought to be present. It was in these ways that beings such as witches, hobgoblins, fairies, and demons came to be associated with the day. In Islam there is absolutely no concept of ghosts. A ghost is defined as: the supposed spirit of somebody who has died, believed to appear as a shadowy form or to cause sounds. When a person’s soul is taken away from this world it can never return to it again. Allah states, “…and behind them (i.e. the dead) is a barrier until the day they are resurrected.”
(23:100)

From the information provided it becomes clear that the current day costume dressing during Halloween stems from a pagan practice that is founded on a pagan belief. In order to safeguard our tawheed and to protect us from adopting practices that are not approved by Allah or to develop any resemblance with them, the Prophet S.A.W. has emphatically ordered, “Oppose the Polytheists.”
(Sahëh Muslim: 602)

In the 7th century A.D., Pope Boniface IV established All Saints’ Day originally on May 13. In the following century, perhaps in an effort to replace the pagan holiday with a Christian observance, it was moved to November 1. The evening before All Saints’ Day became a holy, or hallowed, eve and thus Halloween. By the end of the Middle Ages, the secular and the sacred days had merged. The Reformation essentially put an end to the religious holiday among Protestants, although in Britain especially Halloween continued to be celebrated as a secular holiday. When large numbers of immigrants, including the Irish, went to the United States beginning in the mid 19th century, they took their Halloween customs with them and in the 20th century Halloween became one of the principal U.S. holidays, particularly among children.

Throughout the years Halloween has come to be associated with a number of activities. Among the most famous of them is that celebrants wear masks and costumes for parties and for trick-or-treating, thought to have derived from the British practice of allowing the poor to beg for food, called “soul cakes.” Today trick-or-treaters go from house to house with the threat that they will pull a trick if they do not receive a treat, usually candy.

Halloween parties often include games such as bobbing for apples perhaps derived from the Roman celebration of Pomona. In Roman mythology, Pomona was the goddess of fruit trees, gardens, and orchards. She was particularly associated with the blossoming of trees versus the harvest.

Another symbol is the jack-o’-lantern, a hollowed-out pumpkin, originally a turnip, carved into a demonic face and lit with a candle inside. This practice is associated with an old Irish folktale of a person named Jack, a lazy yet shrewd farmer who used a cross to trap the Devil. Legend has it that Jack tricked the Devil into climbing an apple tree, and once he was up there Jack quickly placed crosses around the trunk or carved a cross into the bark, so that the Devil couldn't get down. He only agreed to let the Devil go if the Devil agreed to never to take his soul, which he consented to. After a while Jack died. Unfortunately his life had been too sinful for him to go to heaven; however, the Devil had promised not to take his soul, and so he was barred from hell as well. He now had nowhere to go. He asked how he would see where to go, as he had no light, and the Devil mockingly tossed him an ember that would never burn out from the flames of hell. Jack carved out one of his turnips (which were his favourite food), put the ember inside it, and began endlessly wandering the Earth for a resting place. He became known as "Jack of the Lantern", or Jack-o'-Lantern.

With a variety of shirk and false notions being the foundation of this event it becomes quite difficult for a Muslim to not see the impermissibility of becoming involved in it. The Prophet p.b.u.h. always distanced himself from all pagan practices and diverted his followers attention to Islamically acceptable observances.

A classical example is when the Prophet p.b.u.h. first arrived at Madinah and witnessed the locals holding a day of celebration. Upon being informed of it’s origin he dissuaded them from continuing this practice by introducing them to an Islamically acceptable one. Anas r.a. reported, “Allah’s Messenger p.b.u.h. came to Madinah while the (locals) had two (fixed) days in which they would have fun. He inquired, “What are these two days (about)?” The locals replied, “We used to have fun on these days in the pre-islamic era.” Allah’s Messenger p.b.u.h. explained, “Allah has substituted those two days for you with something better; the day of Adha and the day of Fitr.”
(Abu Dawud: 1134)

According to Sh. Khalil Ahmad Saharanpuri these two days were Nowruz (the Persian New Year which is held annually on the vernal equinox, as the beginning of spring) and Mehregān (an Iranian festival celebrated in honor of Mithra, a mythical deity, which is held on the autumnal equinox every year).

Although it hurts to feel left out when everyone is having a good time, a Muslim should take solace in the fact that the enjoyment of this world is temporary while the enjoyment of Paradise is everlasting. However earning Paradise requires sacrifice and abstaining from activities that are founded on shirk and false beliefs is just one of those sacrifices we are required to make. May Allah make it easy for us all.

Maslak-e-Aala Hazrat is not any innovated religion in the name of Aala Hazrat Rehmatullah Alaih. It is in the same way which is well known amongst the Sunnis in the name of Maslak-e-Ahle Sunnat Wa Jama'at. Following is the Transcript of a Lecture delivered by Syeduna TajushShariah Mufti Muhammad Akhar Rida Khan Qadiri al-Azhari concerning this issue in Harare, Zimbabwe.

Aala Hazrat Rehmatullah Alaih never innovated any religion in his name. Aala Hazrat Rehmatullah Alaih has been awarded from ALLAH and His Holy Prophet (Sallal-LaahuAlaihi Wasallam) for his dedication to serve Islam and reforms the practices of our Rasool (Sallal-Laahu Alaihi Wasallam). Therefore, ALLAH'S real Deen is introduced by the name of Aala Hazrat Rehmatullah Alaih, that's why, Maslake Aala Hazrat is another name of Maslak-e-Ahle Sunnat Wa Jama'at.

There is not enough time to elaborate his teaching; however, I can compress all his thoughts and teachings in a few stanzas of his poetry which present the real faith and right beliefs of a real Muslim concerning the Holy Prophet (Sallal-Laahu Alaihi Wasallam) as he says:

"Allah Ki Sar Ta Baa Qadam Shaan Hain Yeh,
Insaa Nahin Insaan, Woh Insaan Hain Yeh,
Quran To Imaan Batata Hai Inhein,
Imaan Yeh Kahta Hai Meri Jaan Hain Yeh"

I have come to explain what Aala Hazrat Rehmatullah Alaih says, indicating to His Revered and Very Esteemed Rasool (Sallallaho Ta'ala Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam) as he is looking at him. This is the Glory and Jalwa of ALLAH from head to bottom (feet). This is such a man that no man is like him.

Moreover, I have to say aforesaid quatrain of Aala Hazrat Rehmatullah Alaih comprises one more belief which is not spoken but it is understood easily through the indication "THAT IS AQIDA-E-HAZIR-O-NAZIR" which can be explained in English in this manner that our Prophet (Sallallaho Ta'ala Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam) is present everywhere, observing everyone by his knowledge and through his insight. That is why the Muslim is instructed while performing Namaaz to consider himself in the presence of Holy Prophet Muhammed (Sallallaho Ta'ala Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam) and to say with due respect, "AsSalaam-0-Alaika Ya Ayyuhan Nabi, Wa Rahmatullahi-Wa-Barakatuhu". If he is unable to look at his beloved Rasool (Sallallaho Ta'ala Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam), he must believe that his Rasool (Sallallaho Ta'ala Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam) is alive and he is in front of him observing his actions and looking at the condition of his heart wherever he may be.

This way Aala Hazrat Rehmatullah Alaih guides Muslims how to believe the Holy Prophet (Sallallaho Ta'ala Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam) and what is the right belief regarding the Holy Prophet (Sallallaho Ta'ala Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam)? One can realize himself through his Aqida that Muhammad (Sallallaho Ta'ala Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam) is quite unparallel, unique and peerless so nobody in the whole Creation can compare to Him. Quran calls on people to believe the Holy Prophet (Sallallaho Ta'ala Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam) and calls him Imaan but Imaan states that the Holy Prophet (Sallallaho Ta'ala Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam) is "my spirit."

This is not only the teachings of Aala Hazrat Rehmatullah Alaih but also the teachings of Kalimah and it is the voice of every Muslim's heart so now you can know who the real Muslims are? There in no real Muslim but Ahle Sunnat Wa Jama'at. In this connection, I would like to recall some stanzas of Hazrat Hassan Ibn Sabit Radi Allaho Ta'ala Anhu, the great poet of the dawn of Islamic age. Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Sallallaho Ta'ala Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam) used to lay down the pulpit for him and commanded him so many times to stand on the pulpit depending the Reverential Prophet Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (Sallallaho Ta'ala Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam) and communicated good news to Hazrat Hassan Ibn Sabit Radi Allaho Ta'ala Anhu stating "Roohul Qudus" Hazrat Jibraeel Alaihe Salaato Wasallam is defending him. As longer he is defending his Holy Prophet (Sallallaho Ta'ala Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam).

So the above-mentioned poet of the dawn of Islamic age Hazrat Hassan Ibn Sabit Radi Allaho Ta'ala Anhu, praising his revered Rasool (Sallallaho Ta'ala Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam) says, "Never an eye witnessed more glorious than you, women have never given birth to the virtuous than you, you have been created free from every blemish, you seem to be created as you wished." Every one can know through these words that Aala Hazrat Rehmatullah Alaih is not alone in regard with his belief concerning Holy Prophet (Sallallaho Ta'ala Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam), in realistic manner he complies in his belief with the faith of Holy Companions of Holy Prophet (Sallallaho Ta'ala Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam), and it proves that this is the real manner to believe Rasool (Sallal-Lahu Alaihi Wassallam) and the beliefs of Ahle Sunnat Wa Jamaat have been inherited from the companions of Holy Prophet (Sallallaho Ta'ala Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam). That's why Aala Hazrat Rehmatullah Alaih says:

"Ahle Sunnat Ka Hai Beda Paar,
Ashaba Huzoor Najm Hai,
Aur Nau Hai Itrat Rasool Allah Ki"
i.e. "Ahle Sunnat are delivered at trust the companions of your excellence of the leading stars and your descendents are just like a boat for deliverance"

This sense is the derivation from a Hadith in which Holy Prophet (Sallallaho Ta'ala Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam) has compared his companions with the stars that has likened his defendants with the boat of Hazrat Nooh Alaihi Salaam.

In the meantime, there are some people trying to represent Islam in a wrong way, actually, they are not representing Islam but they are only trying to deprive Muslims from the spirit of Islam, as they say, "Muhammad (Sallallaho Ta'ala Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam) is a man like others". Unfortunately, they try to justify this wrong tenet by means of the verses of Holy Quran, Para (16) "Say you, apparently in facial outlook of a man, I am like you, I receive Revelation that your Allah is one". (Al-Kahf: Verse 110).

In this verse, ALLAH has commanded His Holy Prophet (Sallallaho Ta'ala Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam) only to state in a humble way that he is apparently like others.

Meanwhile, he is clarifying the things which separate him from the mankind, stating that the revelation comes to him that your deity is one so whilst ALLAH has commanded only His Rasool (Sallallaho Ta'ala Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam) to make such a statement in a humble way, how can his believers dare to turn the simile and claim that they are like the Holy Prophet (Sallallaho Ta'ala Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam).

It would be a very irrespective attitude towards respected Rasool (Sallallaho Ta'ala Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam). They believe one part of this verse, meanwhile they do not believe the other part i.e. "I receive Revelation" (Al-Kahf: 110). The revelation comes to me, therefore, ALLAH states about such people i.e. they believe in some parts of divine (Quran) and they do not believe in some others, while ALLAH states about Sunnis those who have got the certain knowledge, say, "We did believe the whole Book, every Aayat is from our Lord, the Almighty ALLAH." One can know through these verses that the Revelation to the Prophet (Sallallaho Ta'ala Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam) requires an eye quite different from the eyes of whole mankind and it requires ears quite different from the ears of the mankind and a heart quite different from the hearts of mankind. Therefore, he Sallallaho Ta'ala Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam states: "My eyes sleep and my heart does not."

Through this statement one can derive that there is no relation corresponding to his eminence in any manner, except visible conditions and regarding his intrinsic status. He is quite different from the whole mankind, it seems to be eminent mankind but it has been classified in the highest rank of Angels like other Prophets, moreover, he is virtuous among all his Prophets. Therefore, Ulama say:

"Prophets have been placed among the mankind is in regard with the apparent manners but regarding their intrinsic status they have been classified with the Angels, therefore, they observe the whole earth from East to West in one sight, they hear the cracking of Heaven and they smell the fragrance of Hazrat Jibraeel Alaihi Salaam while he intends to descend down to the Prophets and all creations that's why he himself says about him "If I intended to make anyone my intimate, I had Abu Bakr (Radi Allah-o-Taa`la Anhu) as my friend (companion). However, there is a relation between me and you in Islam and your Master is Khaleel (intimate) of Rehman (The Compassionate)." Naseem-ur-Riaz, the distinguished work of Imam Shahbuddin Khifajyi.

That's why our Holy Prophet (Sallallaho Ta'ala Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam) says, "I witness what you do not witness and I hear what you do not hear". It is quite short which has been mentioned above, much more has been left out. I conclude with these few words:

May ALLAH accept them and may ALLAH bestow all of us to keep on the right path having the reverence and respect of His Holy Prophet (Sallallaho Ta'ala Alaihi wa Aalihi wa Baaraka wa Sallam) and all the belongings of him. May Allah keep us away from the company of misled people AMEEN.
