Qadianism/Mirzaiyyat/Ahmadiyya Movement in Islam has become quite a controversial issue. Muslims everywhere have strated campaigning against them. Pretending to be the Champions of islam and the only true Muslims, they are leading ignorant Muslims out of its fold. Is it a Movement of Reform within Islam as it claims to be? OR is it a Pious Fraud in the name of Islam? In 1988 Mirza Tahir Ahmad Qadiani, Head of the Ahmadiyya Movement and Grandson of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, issued a challenge of Mubahila, in which he labeled the entire Muslim Ummah as Disbelievers and Liars. Syed Abdul Hafeez took up the challenge and set up Anti Ahmadiyya Movement in Islam. it is an awareness campaign to educate Muslims and non-Muslims about the true nature of this creed and bring to the light the true personality of its founder and his heretical beliefs, as depicted in his writings. It is an honour for me to assist Shaikh Abdul Hafeez in his efforts. |

Q: Who are Qadiyanis? |
A brief survey of Qadiyanis |
Beginning: Begun in India, inspired and actively supported by the British colonial power. In the mid nineteenth century the British thought that Islam as the Deen of Allah was dead, but the War of Independence of 1857 and the leading role of Muslims through the spirit of Jihad, scared the British. They actively sought an alternative to real Islam. Among the many things they did, one was the foundation of a new religion in the name of Islam by the hands of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiyani. The British gave Mirza full support and an outline; and he filled in the details. Mirza Ghulam Qadiyani: He said that his name was Ghulam Ahmad, son of Ghulam Murtaza, belonging to the caste of Mughal Barlas who came to India from Samarqand. Later he changed his origins and claimed to be a Persian. He again had a change of mind and claimed to belong to the progeny of Fatima bint Muhammad(S). He was born in 1839-40 in Qadiyan, District of Gordaspur, Punjab, India in a family who were subservient to the British and played a heroic role in defending the British in the War of 1857. Ghulam remained proud of his and his family's services to the British crown and advised his followers to remain loyal to the British Government and the West. Qadiyanis, the followers of Ghulam Ahmad, established good liaison with the State of Israel immediately after its establishment and Israel gave them full protection. Steps to the Prophethood: The 1870s was a period of debates between Hindus against Muslims and Christians against Muslims. Muslims did not start those debates but Muslim scholars were winning all of them and winning the hearts of the Muslim masses. Ghulam saw an opening to gain popularity and taught himself the art of debating against Hindus and became popular by 1877. In 1880 he published his first book Baraheen-i-Ahmadiyyah and established himself as a writer. By 1884 he added three more volumes to the same book and in 1885 he claimed himself to be a Mujaddid, a revivalist of Islam. In 1891 he claimed himself to be the Promised Mehdi and a Promised Messiah. During this period he insisted that he was not a prophet declaring that such a claim would make him a kaafir and a liar. Well! In 1901 Ghulam declared, "by Allah in Whose grip is my soul it is He Who commissioned me and named me a prophet" and he declared that Allah gave him "three hundred thousand". Note that Allah's true messengers and prophets received their assignment suddenly not step-wise like Ghulam. By Ghulam's own declarations, now he became a Kaafir and a liar. (Abstract from QADIYANIAT, AN ANALYTICAL SURVEY, by Ehsan Ilahi Zaheer.) Qadiyaniat in the Contemporary World: Pakistan, the home of the Qadiyani movement, declared the religion of Ghulam Ahmad to be kufr, non-Islam and other governments followed suit. Saudi Arabia stopped giving visas to Qadianis as Muslims. Recently, a South African court has ruled them to be non-Muslims. However, anti-Islam governments give Qadianis protection and provide facilities for their propagation, among them, the U.S. and the British are major protectors. It is interesting to note that Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto helped declare Qadianism as non-Islam but his daughter Benazir Bhutto and Pakistan People's Party (PPP) are actively embracing all enemies of Islam including Qadianis. Beware of deceptively Islamic looking functions and gatherings like Seeratun-Nabi, Interfaith Dialogues serve as bait for simplistic and un-informed Muslims. Attending Qadiani functions under any pretext is helping and promoting their kufr. Hypocrisy of Pacifism: Mirza Ghulam Ahmad declared that "Jihad", as an instrument of war (defensive or offensive), was forbidden by him. His followers, Qadiyanis, continue to present themselves to the West as pacifists, anti-war "Muslims". As recently as Summer, 1996 in their annual convention in Washington, D.C. area, they presented themselves as peaceful "Muslims" who did not believe in war. The national media in the U.S. took note of it and presented "Ahmadiya Muslims" as pacifists. The truth is that Qadiyanis entered the armed forces of Pakistan from the time of the formation of the country and rose to the highest ranks of officers corp in all branches, namely, army, air force and navy . With the blessings of their "Khalifah" they participated in wars against India. When the "Khalifah" was questioned he defended his position and reiterated that his father, Ghulam Qadiyani, the founder of the cult, was not a pacifist. Beliefs of Ahmadiya Cult (Qadiyanis): Mirza Ghulam Qadiyani disrespects Allah and His messenger Muhammad(S): Read the following quotes from the writings of the founder of, so called, "Ahmadiyah Movement in Islam" which Muslims address them as Qadiyanis or Mirzais because his full name was Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Baig Qadiyani. All references are from his Urdu writings; some of the quotes were taken from Qadiyani magazines or newspapers published after the death of Mirza. * "I saw in my dream that I am Allah and I believed, no doubt I am the one who created the heaven." Aina-e-Kamalat, p.564. * "I have been given the attribute of destruction and giving life; this has been given to me from Allah." Khutba Ilhamiyah #6. * " Every one can rise to the highest status, he can even surpass the status of Muhammad(S), the Messenger of Allah." Al-Fadl Qadiyan, 17th July 1922. * "Hadrat Muhammad(S) used to eat cheese made by the Christians even though it was well known that lard (pig fat) was mixed in it." Al-Fadl Qadiyan, 22nd February, 1924. * "It is evident like daylight that the door of prophethood is open after that Hadrat (Muhammad(S))." Haqiqat an-Nubuwwah, p.329. *"I swear by that God who owns my life that He has sent me, He named me a prophet and He called me the Promised Messiah." Closing of Haqiqat Al-Wahy, p. 68. * "Allah Ta'ala gave names, Muhammad and Ahmad and established me as the persona of Muhammad." Ek Ghalati ka Izalah, p.10. * "True God is the One Who sent His messenger in Qadiyan." Dafeh Al-Bala', p.11. * "So, is there any doubt that Hadrat Promised Messiah is a prophet according to the Quranic meaning as well as literal meaning." Haqiqat An-Nubuwah, p.116. The Character of Qadiani: Mirza received his early education from his father and other teachers of the village. Mirza took a humble job in the office of the Deputy Commissioner. During his employment he took exams for legal positions but failed them. After his failures he returned home to take care of the family land. There are three parts of Mirza's life: (a) Period as a Muslim, (b) period of various claims, and (c) the period of his claim of prophethood. During the early period Mirza was an ordinary Muslim; he had the aqeedah of Muslims and believed in the finality of the Prophet Muhammad(S). During the period of 1882 to 1890, in sequence, he claimed to be a mujaddid (a revivalist), musleh (a reformer), mehdi (a divinely guided one) and masih maw'oud (the Promised Messiah). In the year 1900 he declared that Jihad had become unlawful and in 1901 he claimed prophethood for himself. And in 1904 he claimed to be Krishna. In short Mirza spent his life involved in insulting the Prophets and Messengers of Allah, treason against Muslims, loyalty to the British colonial power, lying, cheating, deceiving simple people, declaring false prophecies, trying to turn Muslims into British slaves, spying on Muslims for the British and trying to obtain the most severe punishments for the Muslims. He tried his best to serve the British most by discouraging and eliminating the concept of Jihad from Islam. Mirza wrote in his books, "I am God, in my vision I am a women, Allah showed his manly power with me and metaphorically I became pregnant." Mirza died on May 26, 1908 in his own hated disease of cholera while vomiting and discharging feces from both ends of his gastro-intestinal system. The Corruption of Ghulam Ahmad Qadiyani's Writings: Since the death of Ghulam Qadiyani in 1908 his followers have been editing out some of the material written by him but criticized by the opponents and had become sources of embarrasment. If Ghulam was a true prophet, his followers have no authority to delete anything from the writings of the "prophet". Qadiyanis use more recent but edited publications of Ghulam Qadiyani's writings to deceive people that he never wrote any such things as quoted by his opponents. English translations are even worse and they have been edited very heavily. However, Muslim scholars have collected and keep original publications of Ghulam Qadyani intheir libraries and use them as sources in their writings and to reveal the truth to the world. |
Islam VS Qadiyanis |
Preface: So called, Ahmadiya Movement in Islam, commonly known among the Muslims as Qadiyaniyat (or Qadiyanism) or Mirzaiyat was started in the 1880s by Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadiyan in the Punjab province of India, then a British colony. The British supported such an schism among Muslims because it fitted their method of divide and rule. Since this early period, the Western powers, in general, British, American and the Israelis, in particular, have been very supportive of Qadiyanism. However, the West is coming to realize that Qadiyanism is not popular among Muslims, since Pakistan declared them to be non-Muslims. Even the Pakistani Supreme Court entered into the act at the initiation of Qadiyanis (the followers of Qadiyanism) and rendered its verdict in favor of the government, after a long process of litigation. In early 1996 the government of South Africa followed the suit and declared Qadiyanism not to be labelled as Islam. Some of the differences between Qadiyanism and Islam are given below. Finality of the Prophethood: In the light of the Qur'an and many sayings of the Prophet Muhammad(S) and a fourteen century old consensus among all Islamic scholars of repute, Muslims believe that Muhammad(S) Ibn Abdullah Ibn Abdulmuttalib who lived fourteen centuries ago was the last prophet and messenger chosen by Allah, the Only True God. However, Ahmadis (Qadiyanis) reject this truth and claim that Mirza Ghulam Ahmad was also a Prophet. There is a group among Qadiyanis who call themselves "Ahmadis of Lahore" who claim that Ghulam Ahmad was not a prophet but "the Promised Messiah or Al-Masih Al-Maw'oud" but this is using a back door and deception as shown below, item No. 2. Interpretation of the Qur'an: Muslims believe that the Qur'an is the Book of Allah, His Word, and Hadith is its interpretation and implementation in practice by the Prophet Muhammad(S). Qur'an can be understood only in the light of Hadith and further explained by Prophet Muhammad's companions and their followers. Any contradiction with their understanding is misguidance and heresy and makes one an apostate (murtad). Qadiyanis reject the main body of interpretation and understanding of the Qur'an and Hadith and accept the authority of Ghulam Ahmad because they believe that he is a chosen prophet of Allah. Ahmadis of Lahore say that Ghulam Ahmad was not a prophet but the Promised Messiah and take Mirza as the sole authority to explain and interpret the Qur'an and Hadith which gives him authority to abrogate certain laws of Islam and invent new laws. According to the Muslims the position of both, Qadiyanis (believers in the prophethood of Ghulam Ahmad) and Ahmadis of Lahore, are identical and both are heretics and blaspheme the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad(S). Appointment of Prophets : In the light of the teachings of the Qur'an, Muslims believe that Allah appoints his chosen human beings to the position of prophethood suddenly without any gradual ascendancy. It has been the understanding of all Islamic scholars that all messengers were also prophets but all prophets were not messengers; a prophet has a lower position than a messenger. If someone was not a prophet, he was certainly not a messenger. Moses(A.S.) and Muhammad(S) were not prophets one day and were told the next day of their appointment. They did not rise through the positions of a reformer to a prophet. Ghulam Ahmad Qadiyani became a debater and a writer in the early 1880s. Then, he claimed to be a reformer (musleh) and a revivalist (mujaddid). His next claim in ascendancy was to be the Mehdi (a divinely guided one who was supposed to come at the turn of each century) and Al-Masih al-Maw'oud (the Promised Messiah). Next, he claimed that he was a shadow prophet within the shadow of the Prophet Muhammad(S). Finally, in 1901 he claimed himself to be a full-fledged prophet of God. Revelations (wahy) from Allah: The implicit belief in a prophet is that he receives revelations (wahy) from Allah. The end of prophethood means the end of divine revelations. Ghulam Ahmad Qadiyani claimed that he received many revelations in Urdu, Arabic and English languages. Even he saw in his dream or vision God as a white British man. Muslims believe that wahy comes only to prophets but Qadiyanis believe that any righteous person may receive wahy. The nature of prophecies: Prophet Muhammad(S) made several prophecies in addition to those in the Qur'an. Many of his prophecies have proven true and many more y are yet to be proven true. On the other hand, it was the nature of Ghulam Ahmad to claim that he made a prophecy after an event had occurred and show to the world that his prophecy had come true. Some of the time, he made prophecies of general type, such as, rain will fall, earthquake will come, plague will spread, death will meet someone, etc., without setting the time and place of such occurrences. In such crooked ways he and his followers claim that hundreds of his prophecies had come true. When Muslims examined his prophecies closely they found that he was proven wrong every time, for example, his marriage to his beloved lady, Muhammadi Begum, birth of boys and the death of his critics. A close scrutiny of his precisely identifiable prophecies show that Allah had determined to prove that Ghulam Ahmad was an imposter, liar and was running his mission against the Muslim Ummah and Allah Himself. Position of jihad: Jihad or striving utmost in the way of Allah is a teaching given in the Qur'an for all time to come. No one has any authority but Allah to abrogate His orders. Ghulam Ahmad declared that jihad was abolished for all time to come. However, his own successors reestablished jihad, yet they continue to fool the West that they are pacifists. They play the game on both sides; when facing Muslims they present the teachings of his son that jihad is alive, and, when facing the Western governments and the media, they present the teachings of Ghulam Ahmad that jihad was and is abrogated. The fact is that Pakistani armed forces are full of Qadiyani soldiers and officers from lowest ranks to generals. How is it possible for pacifists to be in an army? Are they truly soldiers fighting for their country or are they in the army for sabotage? Who are they fooling? The position of Jesus(S): According to the Qur'an Jesus was a great prophet and a messenger of Allah, performed many miracles and was raised to heavens by the Will of Allah. Ghulam Ahmad accepts Jesus as a prophet, however, he denies all major miracles of Jesus mentioned in the Qur'an and his ascension to the heavens. Ghulam Qadiyani claims that Jesus escaped from Palestine, got married, had children, died at the age of 120 years and was buried in Kashmir, a Muslim majority state under Indian occupation. This is heresy in Islam. Corruption of the meaning of the Qur'an: Muslims take the understanding of the Qur'an from the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad(S), consensus of his companions and commentary of their followers. Ghulam Ahmad and his followers corrupted the meaning of the Qur'an at many places. For example, the last verse of Surah Al-Fatiha has the wording, ghayril maghdoobi 'alayhim waladdalleen which means not from those who deserved Allah's wrath nor those who went astray. Qadiyani interpretation is that not from those who denied the prophethood of Ghulam Ahmad, criticized him and called him names. Another example is verse 4 of Surah Al-Baqarah where the word Aakhirat comes. The Islamic interpretation of Aakhirat is the life hereafter; however, Qadiyani interpretation is future revelations, particularly those supposedly received by Ghulam Ahmad, totally out of context and in violation of all the rules of the Arabic language. Another example is that of Dhul Qarnayn in the last part of Surah Al-Kahf. He claims that he is the Dhul Qarnayn because he lived during the change of centuries in Hijrah, Christian and Hindu calendars. However, he does not explain why every one who lives at the time of change of centuries cannot be called Dhul -Qarnayn. There are numerous such corrupt interpretations of the Qur'an in his and his followers' writings. Mehdi and Messiah: According to the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad(S), Mehdi, the divinely guided Muslim leader and Messiah are two different personalities. However, Ghulam Ahmad claims to be the Mehdi and the Promised Messiah. There are Ahadith (plural of Hadith) which teach the Muslims that Jesus is the Promised Messiah who will end Christianity and Judaism in the world, kill Dajjal, the great Deceiver, rule according to the Qur'an and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad(S) (also known as Sunnah), establish one world government, bring peace and justice before his death. Ghulam Ahmad, claimed to be the Mehdi and the Promised Messiah yet died without fulfilling any of the prophesies of the Prophet Muhammad. Prophet's position among his followers: Prophet Muhammad(S) received divine revelations which needed no edit, ring, reviewing or rewriting. He always led Salat, the prescribed prayers and pronounced his decisions in the matters of Shari'ah, no one was needed for consultation. Ghulam Ahmad frequently prayed behind one or the other of his followers; ask them in the matters of shari'ah (Islamic law) and depend upon their advice. Some of his closest followers were Hakim Nuruddin, Khaja Kamaluddin, Muhammad Ali, Sher Ali, Muhammad Ahsan Amrohi, Yar Muhammad, Abdullah Timapuri, Muhammad Sadiq and his son Mahmud Ahmad. He gave his writings to one or the other of his followers for review and edit. He considered that some of them had more knowledge than himself and addressed them as "my respected master". Money management: Prophet Muhammad(S) was the most charitable person of his time. During his last few years he had an abundant amount of wealth at his disposal which he used for Allah's cause, not keeping anything for himself. Despite all the wealth, his wife Ayesha(R) said that for weeks to months no cooking fire was lit in his house because there was nothing requiring cooking; they lived on milk and dates when it became available. Prophet Muhammad was reasonably a rich man at the beginning of his prophethood but after the death of his wife Khadija(R) he lived and died in poverty. In Islam people's money raised through Zakat and donations is a test of sincerity of a Muslim leader and a reformer. True Muslim leaders do not touch the money raised through Zakat and donations except for bare survival and, if they have to, they will never take enough to build an estate. Ghulam Ahmad had a very humble beginning with a job which paid him for bare survival but he died very rich leaving behind a large estate for his family and children. Some of his followers accused Ghulam Ahmad of embezzlement and unjustifiably devouring people's money. The study of Ghulam Ahmad's relationship with some of his closest associates reveals that he was head of a gang in the business of fooling people to acquire wealth and share among themselves. When one of them did not get his share, he would accuse the leader of unfair devouring of others share. The handling of Zakat and Sadaqah: Prophet Muhammad(S) would not use Zakat and Sadaqah nor would he allow his family and progeny to use it. He would accept only gifts given to him personally. Ghulam Ahmad, despite his claims that he was from the progeny of the Prophet(S) through his grand mothers he consumed Zakat and Sadaqah and these sources contributed to his large estate Rule under disbelievers: Once Prophet Muhammad(S) established the Islamic rule in Madinah, he defended hard and persistently against all invasions and would not allow the establishment of their beach heads anywhere near his seat of government. He did not stop at that but he continued to remove the rule of disbelievers from the entire Arabian Peninsula. His followers followed his way and established the rule of Allah as far away as it was possible for them. Ghulam Ahmad and his family fought against Muslims, hand-in-hand with the disbeliever British ruler in the War of Independence of 1857 in India and were proud of their disgraceful acts. In support of the British, Ghulam Ahmad declared war for the removal of the British rule from India as illegal and against the teachings of his Islam. Qadiyanis and Ahmadis, in following the footsteps of the founder of their pseudo-Islamic cult, work hand-in-hand with the governments of the West and their allies including Israel. Islam's establishment: Islam was established despite the opposition of disbelievers, mushrikoon (those who associate gods with Allah) and munafiqoon (those who give lip service to Islam) continues to grow under similar situation which exists in our times. Qadiyanism and Ahmadism took birth under the protection of the British rule, a disbeliever anti-Islam government and continues to grow marginally under the protection and tutelage of the West. The false prophet of Qadiyanis |
"GHULAM AHMAD QADYANI" |
Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiyani, the fonder of Qadiyanism or Ahmadism, so called Ahmadiya Movement in Islam wrote about prophesies of a prophet: · a. The Torah and the Qur'an admit that the most truthful evidence of prophethood are the prophesies, and · b. It is not possible that God's revelations be not confirmed by their fulfillment. Let us examine the prophesies of the writer who claimed himself to be a prophet (nabi) and the Promised Messiah (al-Masih al-Maw'oud). If a single prophecy is not fulfilled, it would show that such a prophet is an imposter and a liar. 1. Rains and earthquakes: Ghulam Ahmad wrote, "God revealed to me that frequent rains will come down. Due to their frequency villages will be destroyed. After them will follow severe earthquakes". He did not specify where and when. If it was to be in India, there are some regions which receive a lot of rain and there are other areas which feel earthquakes. This is not a prophecy. 2. Abdullah Atham's death: A Christian, Abdullah Atham entered into a debate with Mirza Ghulam Ahmad in 1893; neither succeeded in winning over the other. It was embarrassing to Ghulam Ahmad and feeling insulted, on June 5, 1883 he announced that he had been informed by God that Abdullah Atham would die within fifteen months, that is, September 5, 1894. Ghulam Ahmad supplicated to God for the death of Abdullah Atham by his announced date of death and he asked his followers to join him in praying for the curse to come true. The deadline came and went but Abdullah Atham lived and for a long time. Ghulam's invocations and supplications were of no use and Allah proved that he was not His prophet. 3. Multiple marriages: On February 20, 1886 Ghulam Ahmad declared that indeed Allah revealed to him that he shall marry blessed women and he shall have numerous children from these new wives. He was then 46 years old. The fact remains that he could not marry anyone after his declared revelation from Allah despite several efforts and a crush on Muhammadi Begum. 4. Marriage to Muhammadi Begum: Ghulam Ahmad at age 46 had a crush on a young lady by the name of Muhammadi Begum daughter of Ahmad Beg, one of his followers. Ghulam asked her father to marry her to himself which he refused. Ghulam Ahmad announced a prophecy that she will be married to him because Allah had married her to him and no one had power to turn away from that becoming true. He offered bribes of estate and wealth to Ahmad Beg. When it did not work he begged for his pity, brought family pressure and finally made threats. The first prophecy of marriage to Muhammadi Begum failed. Ahmad Beg did not budge from his position and married his daughter to an ordinary soldier. Ghulam Ahmad prophesied that the husband of Muhammadi Begum would die soon and she would be married to him since their marriage had taken place in the heavens. He fixed a three year period for the death of the soldier husband of his beloved lady. Twenty two years later Ghulam Ahmad died but the soldier lived for another forty years and she lived even longer. The second prophecy of marriage to Muhammadi Begum failed. 5. A spark of the light of God: A son was born to Ghulam Ahmad on June 14, 1899 when he was 59 years old. He gave him the name, Mubarak Ahmad and declared, "this lad is indeed a spark of the light of God, the promised reformer, the owner of greatness and authority, possessor of healing breath like the Messiah, curer of diseases, a word of God and lucky. He will become famous in the four corners of the world, he will set prisoners free and through him all nations will be blessed." A son was born to Ghulam Ahmad on June 14, 1899 when he was 59 years old. He gave him the name, Mubarak Ahmad and declared, "this lad is indeed a spark of the light of God, the promised reformer, the owner of greatness and authority, possessor of healing breath like the Messiah, curer of diseases, a word of God and lucky. He will become famous in the four corners of the world, he will set prisoners free and through him all nations will be blessed." 6. The birth of another son: When Ghulam Ahmad's wife became pregnant, he announced on January 1, 1903, "Praise be to Allah Who bestowed upon me in spite of old age four sons and has given me good news of a fifth". On January 28, 1903 his wife delivered a daughter who died in infancy. This was first failed prophecy of a son. His wife became pregnant again and he prophesied that she will deliver a son about whom he said, "the son of nobility will be born - a lad goodly-shaped and handsome." She delivered a baby girl on June 24, 1904. This was the second failed prophecy of a son. 7. Again a son: After two disappointments and proving himself to be a false prophet, he announced again that Allah had given him the news, "Verily, We give you tidings of a meek boy." He announced the date of the birth of the boy to be September 16, 1907 which was never fulfilled. This was the third false prophecy of a son. In October 1907 he pronounced yet another revelation from Allah, "I shall soon bestow upon you a righteous boy" and his name was announced to be Yahya. Alas, the prophesied son never came and the false prophet Ghulam Ahmad himself died on May 26, 1908. This was the fourth false prophecy of a son. 8. A son to one of his followers: Manzoor Muhammad, one of his followers, informed him that his wife was pregnant. Ghulam Ahmad prophesied cautiously in stages that Manzoor's wife will deliver a boy from this pregnancy or from a later pregnancy and child's name will be "Bashir-ud-Dawla". After such safeguards in his prophecy he emphasized, "Manzoor Muhammad's wife shall not die unless she gives birth to this noble son and until his prophecy is fulfilled." Manzoor Muhammad's wife delivered a baby girl and afterwards she never conceived and died without giving a boy. Doesn't it look like Ghulam Ahmad was working against Allah's Will? 9. The plague: Ghulam Ahmad feared plague very much and declared it to be one of his signs. He prophesied that the epidemic then ravaging in the Indian Province of Punjab will not enter his town of Qadiyan because it was the dwelling place of "God's prophet." God proved him a liar again. Plague spread in Qadiyan and in Ghulam Ahmad's own house; his maid and a few of his followers died of plague. 10. The death of Dr. Abdul Hakim: Dr. Abdul Hakim entered into a discussion with Ghulam Ahmad, challenged him to an open debate and called him a liar. Ghulam Ahmad did not take it very well and prophesied, "Abdul Hakim will die during my life-time as he insults and disgraces me." On May 4, 1907 Dr. Abdul Hakim responded with his own prediction that Ghulam Ahmad will die within fifteen months, that was by August 4, 1908. Ghulam Ahmad responded to Dr. Abdul Hakim's prediction by adding to his own prophecies: (a) Dr. Abdul Hakim will die during the life-time of Ghulam Ahmad, and, (b) Ghulam Ahmad will live to be eighty years of age, which was to be 1920 or later. Ghulam Ahmad died within a year on May 26, 1908, at age 68 and Dr. Abdul Hakim lived for many more years to become an old man. Ghulam Ahmad's prophecies and self deprecation: On various occasions when he announced a prophecy he would self-deprecate if the prophecy was not fulfilled. A few of his announcements are given below: 1. "If what I have said does not happen exactly, I am prepared for every punishment. My face be blackened and I be insulted. A rope be put round my neck and I be hanged". 2. "Prepare for me a cross if my falsehood is exposed and curse me more than the Satan, the evil and the accursed." 3. Regarding his burning love and lust for Muhammadi Begum, a daughter of one of his followers, he said, "Her marriage (to me) is a settled affair. I swear by God that this is true. They shall not have the power to thwart its occurrence. God Almighty has said, 'We have ourselves married her to you, it is not possible that My words may change'." Further, he said, "There is no changing of the Word of Allah. The meaning is that this prophecy of mine is bound to become true as the failure of its fulfillment falsifies the Word of God". In fact, the Word of God is never falsified but a liar speaking in the name of God is exposed. He further said, "If this prophecy does not turn out to be true I shall be the most evil of the evils, ye fools!" Well! He proved himself what he was. 4. "But if this prophecy is not from Thee, O God, then perish me in disgrace and total loss and make me accursed and peltable in Thy view." 5. "For ascertainment of my truthfulness or my falsehood there is no better thing than my prophesies." Well! We know the truth, don't we? Allah repeatedly failed Ghulam Ahmad in his prophecies to prove to the world that this man was a liar, an imposter and an inventor of a new religion which was not Islam. Why did i renounce Ahmaddiyah |
"...I must say, before God and man, that the more I |
In a series of articles published in Nigeria during 1974, Dr. Ismail A. B. Balogun, a high level Ahmadi leader, refuted the tenets of Ahmadiyyah and publicly denounced the Movement he had been born and raised in. A Professor of Islamic and Arabic Studies at the University of Ibadan, Algeria, Dr. Balogun had dedicated his life to the cause of Ahmadiyyah and had raised through the ranks to become a top spokesman and ambassador for the Movement. Throughout the years, his well articulate and emotional speeches had motivated many young Ahmadis. Similarly, his public departure and the commotion and debates that pursued caused many educated individuals to realize the truth and abandon Ahmadiyyah. Allah accept the repentance of those who do evil in ignorance and repent soon afterwards; to them will Allah turn in mercy: For Allah is full of knowledge and wisdom. (The holy Quran, An-Nisa, 4:17) Subsequently, Dr. Balogun documented the reasons for his withdrawal from the Movement and included some of the ensuing debates in a book entitled "Islam versus Ahmadiyyah in Nigeria". In this book, Dr. Balogun disclosed how he, as many other highly educated individuals, had blindly accepted Ahmadiyyah out of loyalty to his parents, misinformation disseminated by the Ahmadi leadership, divisive methods of the Indo-Pakistani Ahmadi missionaries, and other subjective reasons having more to do with propaganda and cultural habits than the truthfulness of any movement. Dr. Balogun recounts his upbringing and his blind faith in the Indo-Pakistani Ahmadi missionaries in the following passage: "In my Childhood, I was brought up to revere the Indo-Pakistani Ahmadiyyah missionaries who guided and controlled our religious activities. When the mission came to our elders and, through the elders to us, we believed all that they told us in toto, because of the implicit confidence we had in them. Their preaching appeared plausible to us and we accepted their arguments in good faith. They made references to Islamic books in order to substantiate their claims and we accepted the references without cross-checking them because of our confidence in them. Their method was to alienate us against the orthodox Muslims in whom they found faults in the way they practiced Islam. The missionaries claimed to present "the true Islam" to us in the name of Ahmadiyyah. They often impressed on us that the stiff opposition, which Ahmadis suffered in India before the partition and subsequently in Pakistan, was a conclusive proof of the truth of Ahmadiyyah. After all, no prophet is readily accepted in his own town or country. This also appeared plausible to us, hence we followed them with unalloyed confidence." (Sunday Sketch, Nigeria, Sept. 29, 1974; Islam versus Ahmadiyyah in Nigeria, p. 85-86) Over a quarter of century ago, Dr. Balogun had accurately identified the strategy employed by high level Ahmadi missionaries to misguide the uninformed. Not only the missionaries do not publicize a complete picture of their doctrine and history, but also they distort the teachings of Islam and attempt to exasperate and capitalize upon sectarian division among few ignorant Muslims. Dr. Balogun testified: "Even though Ahmadiyya has been in this country for close to sixty years, I make the bold to say that, up till now, the vast majority of the adherents of the organization, within both the Movement and the Mission, are still in the dark about the details of its teaching, as well as its purpose. For example, it was only very recently, when stiff opposition to Ahmadiyyah started to rear its head in this country, that certain high-ranking Ahmadis knew for the first time that Mirza Ghulam Ahmad claimed to be a Prophet." (Sunday Times, Nigeria, Jan. 20, 1974; ibid., p. 3) “[The fact that Ahmadis hid their true doctrine from the membership at large is] evident in the fact that when one of the young educated Nigerian Muslims, who originally invited the Movement here, went to Britain for further studies and thereby came in contact with Indian Ahmadis, who resided then in Britain, he studied them at first hand and returned home only to withdraw his membership of the Movement. This was the late al-Haj L. B. Agusto of blessed memory." (Sunday Times, Nigeria, Jan. 20, 1974; Ibid., p. 2) Indeed, since its very inception, the Ahmadi leadership has relied upon the well-proven methods of the Christian Missionaries to alienate the uninformed individuals from knowledgeable and sincere Muslims and selfishly increase their membership. They know only too well that the descendants of individuals somehow tricked into joining their organization are generally less likely to renounce their membership, even after they discover the truth. Truly they found their fathers on the wrong Path; So they (too) were rushed down on their footsteps! And truly before them, many of the ancients went astray;- (The holy Quran, As-Saaffat, 37:69-71) Dr. Balogun records that, when in 1974, the Pakistani Government and the Muslim World League both declared the Ahmadiyyah to be a non-Muslim group, he set out in earnest to defend the Movement he was born into and prove its truthfulness. However, his scholarly and thorough research into the teachings of Ahmadi leadership untangled a disturbing web of deceit and left him with no alternative but to denounce the Mission. This finding is even more significant since Dr. Balogun, even though a high level Ahmadi and a Professor of Islamic Studies, had himself been kept in the dark for over forty years. Regarding the authenticity of the alleged references and interpretations provided by the Ahmadi Missionaries, from the Holy Quran, books of Hadith, and the writings of Muslim personalities, to lend the appearance of support to their various claims, Dr. Balogun wrote: "My aim [in cross-checking the references offered by Ahmadi missionaries] was actually to strengthen myself against the gathering opposition to Ahmadiyyah. As a University scholar, I was conscious that my pronouncement in support of Ahmadiyyah must necessarily be backed with authentic references to Islamic sources. In my cross-checking of the Ahmadiyyah missionaries' references, however, my findings were rather disappointing. Consequent upon my first article on the Ahmadiyyah problem in Nigeria (Sunday Times, 20 January 1974), the Ahmadiyyah Mission members wrote extensive rejoinders which gave me a further opportunity to examine, independently, more Ahmadiyyah claims and views than hitherto. I must say, before God and man, that the more I scrutinized the claims and purported references for them, the more I discovered that the Ahmadiyyah Mission is deceiving the world and playing on the ignorance of many of their followers. In many cases, they quote authors [scholars] who are explicitly opposed to Ahmadiyyah ideas; but so cleverly do they quote that they often give the impression that the authors support Ahmadiyyah views. Examples of such distortions abound in the quotations made by Dr. Bhutta in his rejoinder (Sunday Sketch, 8 September 1974) to my article. It may interest the readers to know that Dr. Bhutta is himself a Pakistani Ahmadiyyah medical missionary. It is only by going to the source references and reading what the Ahmadis had quoted within the context in which they are set that the reader, and the seeker after truth, will realize how much the Pakistani Ahmadiyyah missionaries try to deceive the world." (Sunday Sketch, Nigeria, Sept. 29, 1974; ibid., p. 86-87) In support of his statements, Dr. Balogun researched, exposed, and refuted many of the deceptive and false arguments used by the Ahmadi missionaries to deceive the uninformed. For instance, he wrote: "In order to buttress their claim about Khatam-un-Nabiyyin, the Ahmadis often quote the mystic Shaikh Muhyiddin Ibn 'Arabi as saying, 'The Prophethood that was terminated with the person of the Prophet of Allah(SAW) was no other than the Law-bearing Prophethood, and not Prophethood itself.' (Futuhat al-Makkiyyah, Vol. II, p. 3) This quoted statement appears on page 3 of the book, which contains over 700 pages. The book does not stop at the statement concerning the matter of Prophethood. On the contrary, it explains further at length, covering eleven pages, pages 252 to 262 inclusive, in the same volume, the different aspects of the Prophethood. He says, among other things, that Prophethood exists among both animate and inanimate objects. With regard to human beings, he classified the Prophets into two: law-bearing prophets and follower prophets. He explains the functions of each category and concludes in both cases that, with the coming of the Prophet Muhammad, both categories have ceased to appear. He says that what would remain for Muslims after Muhammad are speculators (Mujtahids) who would strive in their own different ways to explain the Shariah to the people according to their understanding of it. Such Mujtahids, he says, will NOT be called Prophets (Ibn Arabi, al-Futuhat al-Makkiyyah, Vol. II, pp. 254 and 255). This is certainly known to the Pakistani Ahmadi missionaries, but they hide it from their followers deliberately in order to entrench their own false idea on Prophethood… Another example of the distortions by the Ahmadis for their selfish ends is contained in their official rejoinder to my article already mentioned. On page 5, column 2, of Monday 11 February 1974 issues of The Truth, the Ahmadiyyah Mission quoted the following in support of the Prophethood of the Promised Messiah: 'There is no discrepancy between the two, that he (the Messiah) will be a Prophet and a follower of the Holy Prophet(SAW) for the purpose of explaining the commandments of his Shariah, and to strengthen its way, even though he does so through his revelations.' (Mirqat Sharh Miskat, Vol. 5, pg. 564) This quotation has been extracted from the explanation of the Hadith in which the Prophet Muhammad had declared that there would be no other Prophet after him. Indication. The Hadith, which is contained in Mishkat al Masabih, reports that the Messenger of God said to 'Ali, 'You are in the same position to me as Harun (Aaron) was to Musa (Moses): except that there is no prophet after me'. The Mishkat reports also that authentic books of Hadith are agreed on this tradition. Now, in commenting on this authentic Hadith, Imam 'Ali Qari, who was deceitfully quoted by Ahmadis, says: "In the commentary of Muslim, some scholars say concerning his [the Prophet's] statement 'Except that there is no Prophet after me,' that it is an indication that whenever 'Isa b. Maryam [Jesus Christ] descends, he will descend as one of the arbitrators of this Community inviting people with the Law of Muhammad(SAW), and will not descend as a Prophet. I say that there is no inconsistency in his being a Prophet and being a follower to our Prophet(SAW) concerning the explanation of the rules of the Shariah and the improvement of his way even with revelation to him, as indicated by the saying of the Prophet: 'If Moses were alive he would have no choice but to follow me.' That is even though he is described as a Prophet and a Messenger; and in the absence of both of them (Prophethood and Messengership), there will not be any additional attainment. Interpretation. So, the meaning is that there will not be any new Prophet after him because he is the Seal of all the Prophets that had gone before. In it (the statement) is an allusion that, if there were to be a Prophet after him, it would have been 'Ali; and it is not incompatible with what has clearly been related concerning the right of 'Umar because the decision is hypothetical and suppositional. It is as if he (the Prophet) says: 'If there were to be a Prophet after me, a group of my Companions would have been Prophets; but there is no Prophet after me.' This is the meaning of the Prophet's(SAW) saying: 'If Ibrahim had lived, he would have been a Prophet.' As for the Hadith, which says, 'The scholars of my Community are like the Israelites Prophets', memorizers like Zurkashi, Asqalani, Damiri, and Suyuti have clearly said that is has no basis." This quotation is from the same book and on the same page referred to by the Ahmadiyyah Mission. That is: 'Ali al-Qari, Mirqat al-Mafatih Sharh Mishkat al-Masabih, vol. 5, pg. 564. It is clear from the quotation that the Mission has extracted what they thought would support their erroneous view from a commentary which, taken together, is explicitly opposed to the view. This is in order to give the impression that the author supports their idea. In educated circles, such act is an errant distortion of an author's view and thought. It contradicts the international law of copyright. It is, indeed, unacceptable as well as unbecoming of a mission that wants itself to be taken seriously. From the Islamic point of view also, it is an abominable act. Consider, for example, Quran 2:59 [also 7:162], which says, "The transgressors changed the statement from that which was made to them; so We sent a pestilence from heaven upon the transgressors, for their having gone astray.' A food for thought indeed for the Ahmadis!" (Sunday Sketch, Nigeria, Sept. 29, 1974; ibid., p. 91-95) It is those who do not believe in the Signs of Allah that forge falsehood: it is they who lie! (The Holy Quran, An-Nahl, 16:105) No sooner had Dr. Balogun unearth such evidence and discovered that the doctrine of Ahmadiyyah was contrary to the authentic teachings of Islam, that he and many others abandoned the Mission and embraced Islam. These fortunate individuals were blessed with the capacity to differentiate the Truth from Falsehood and the sincere faith to prefer Allah(SWT) and His Messenger(SAW) to the position, prestige, and life-style they had achieved within the Organization. Truly, they were the recipients of guidance from Allah(SWT). Subsequent to such public expositions, Dr. Balogun became the subject of personal attacks by many senior Ahmadi missionaries. For instance, Molvi Ajmal Shahid, then the Amir of Ahmadiyyah movement in Nigeria, provided an extremely short reply in which he expressed his dismay at the "spiritual death of a brother (ibid., p. 97)" and Moulvi Naseem Saifi, the chief Ahmadiyyah missionary for West Africa, confirmed that Dr. Balogun had been very close and high in the administration and expressed his sadness that Dr. Balogun had abandoned Ahmadiyyah in favor of Islam (ibid., p. 99); other Ahmadi missionaries questioned his public withdrawal and, in an attempt at damage control, advanced a number of unbecoming and unproved accusations. In clarification, Dr. Balogun responded: "I could have raised all the points in this article with them (e.g. the Indo-Pakistani Ahmadi leadership) internally without any publicity; but experience has shown that such criticisms will automatically earn the critic either a long-term boycott or an outright excommunication. With any of these, no other member will be prepared to listen to him... I have stated my point of view, God is my witness, purely because of my awareness of the responsibility incumbent on me towards my fellow Nigerian Muslims in particular, and the world Muslims at large. My intention is not to oppose Ahmadiyyah; I have lived in it long enough to have a soft spot for it in my heart. But that notwithstanding, whenever a clash of opinion arises between Islam and Ahmadiyyah, it behooves me to declare for Islam without mincing words." (Sunday Times, Nigeria, Jan. 20, 1974; ibid., p.17) “Furthermore, instead of being crossed with me, calling me names and making all sorts of conjectures about me because of my renunciation of Ahmadiyyah, let the Nigerian Ahmadis take my exposition to their Pakistani missionaries for verification or denial. Assertions. If they deny my assertions, then demand from them the Arabic books (not Urdu translations) from which they took their quotations. Then, let independent Arabic scholars translate the relevant sections within their context. If I am proved wrong, let my father reject and disown me, and let the Ahmadis collectively curse and “crucify” me. But if I am proved right, then it becomes incumbent on all Nigerian Ahmadis, including my relations, both by blood and affinity, to reconsider their association with Ahmadiyyah, pray fervently to God Almighty as I have done to show them the way of Islam and help them to follow it.” (Sunday Sketch, Sept. 29, 1974; ibid., p. 96) Naturally, the personal attacks levied against Dr. Balogun had nothing to do with the issue at hand and had been orchestrated solely to confuse the naive. In truth, the deceptive methods of the Mission had been exposed and independently verified by a number of individuals. The damage done to the Mission was so great that it had to disband. Many Ahmadis reorganized under the name of "Anwar-ul-Islam Movement" and rejected the unIslamic doctrines which the Ahmadi leadership and missionaries had propagated and sustained through their distortions and misrepresentations of the authentic teachings of Islam (Daily Times, Monday, Nov. 25, 1974; ibid., p. 121). May Allah(SWT) guide every sincere Ahmadi to Islam. Among the individuals, who witnessed the written public debates between Dr. Balogun and the high level Ahmadi missionaries and recognized the falsehood of the Mission, was a well-known gentleman by the name of Mr. Alhaj A. S. Olatunde. To save face and mislead their naive followers, Ahmadi missionaries apparently had began a rumor that Br. Olatunde had recognized their "truth" and accepted Ahmadiyyah! In response, Br. Olatunde issued a public statement, which is reproduced below: “For some months now, I have been quiet. My quietness has come as a result of a very serious study I embarked upon in connection with a burning question. The question began with an article published by Dr. Ismail Balogun of the University of Ibadan a few months ago. It concerned the belief of the Ahmadiyya Jamat that the founder of the organization was a kind of a prophet. Dr. Ismail Balogun, who was born into the Ahmadiyya Community, advanced cogent arguments and reasons to support his rebuttal of the claim of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad to Prophethood and the need to abandon the name Ahmadiyya to denote a class of Muslims. A series of rejoinders came from many well-known Ahmadis. The most significant thing about the rejoinders is that they are unconvincing! They have been based on shifty premises. Dr. Ismail Balogun came out again with a final reply to all the rejoinders. His final reply contained incontrovertible facts from various books of Islam and lexicons to support his stand that after the holy Prophet Muhammad there had not been and there would never be another prophet of any kind, at least in so far as Islam is concerned. I want to make my personal stand clear now. I support Dr. Ismail Balogun. I agree entirely with his findings. And with him I declare that Muhammad is the last Prophet of God. I also declare that I am not an Ahmadi. It is true that I have been closely connected with the Ahmadiyya Mission for many years. During my period of association with them, the question of another prophet after Muhammad was never a point of interest in our discussions. I am sure with this, nobody will be in doubt any more about my stand. I want to remind all Muslims of an incident toward the close of the glorious life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad. It was the parting sermon he delivered on the Arafat in his last pilgrimage. He said: "I am leaving unto you two noble things. So long as you will cling to them, you will never go astray. One of them is the Book of Allah and the other is the Tradition of His Apostle. Let him that is present tell unto him that is absent. Haply he that shall be told may remember better than he who has heard it." With me, the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Prophet are sufficient. I am a Muslim and anything that will tarnish my Islam is rejected with all my heart. If there is any person or any group of persons who have been showing me any favor because they thought that I was an Ahmadi, I pray, they should now withhold or withdraw their favors. I shall be satisfied with whatever favors it will please Allah to bestow on me as a Muslim, pure and simple. May Allah open our hearts to His Truth. Amen.” (Daily Sketch, Friday, Nov. 8, 1974; ibid. p. 118-119) Obviously, a movement whose very leaders and founders have used such deceptive methods to misguide the uninformed, for a hundred years, can not be taken seriously nor viewed as a divine organization. Each one of the arguments Ahmadi leaders have advanced in support of their organization is similarly based on deceptive claims or pure conjecture and has been solely invented to keep their unfortunate followers confused and entrapped. We hope that individuals who have mistakenly followed Ahmadiyyah reconsider their standing in the light of all the evidence uncovered by Dr. Balogun. Should those, who have been touched by the miracles of the Holy Quran and the teachings of the last Prophet Muhammad(SAW), exhibit loyalty and obedience to Allah(SWT) and His last Messenger(SAW) or to individuals whose deception and falsehood has been continually exposed? Those who reject Allah, hinder (men) from the Path of Allah, and resist the Messenger, after Guidance has been clearly shown to them, will not injure Allah in the least, but He will make their deeds of no effect.
